Brigitte Sauzay German Exchange Program

on Sun, 11/20/2016 - 18:06

For the past few years, the MLK has been offering those students in 4e who are studying German the possibility of a prolonged exchange to Germany under the ‘Brigitte Sauzay Programme’. Students commit to spending 2 – 3 months with a host family, attending school with their exchange partner.  As it is an exchange, the German partner will also come and stay with the MLK family and attend school in that time.

This exchange is a unique opportunity for young people to discover first hand the German school system, family life , culture and daily life, as well as providing a unique intercultural

Come and try out the International Choir!

on Thu, 09/22/2016 - 07:55

As Anglophone parents, many of us are used to 'lunchtime activities' being offered by the school. Here's one you shouldn't miss:

The International Choir.

This lunchtime activity was born of inspiration between the PSAB and the FSE, indeed it is one of our own Anglophone parents, Aviva Timonier, who leads the choir.

Aviva is a professional singer with bags of experience leading choirs. She will be teaching the children to sing in both French & English, (maybe even other languages, who knows?) in her own fun style.

It’s being performed in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, right next to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, on the banks of the River Thames from 17 February to 22 April.

Here’s the link if you want to check it out:

English-German Exchange MLK/LFA

on Thu, 12/17/2015 - 17:59
Why pay for expensive trips abroad to reinforce your child’s LV1 when we also have German kids who are keen to improve their English here on our doorstep?

The PSAB has started an initiative to encourage more interaction between the German and English speaking children in and around Buc during the Collège years.  The benefits will be both cultural and linguistic, with the additional advantage that the children would get to know each other before meeting in 2nde at the LFA.

This year we have matched 10 Anglophone children from 5e with a German-speaking family and child with similar

MLK International Choir - a new initiative

on Thu, 12/17/2015 - 14:47

International Choir: UPDATE *** UPDATE *** UPDATE

3 weeks into the project, we are delighted to announce that we have a total of 37 kids regularly attending the new International Choir which takes place during Friday lunchtime. Thanks to the number of participants, we are able to maintain both sessions, back to back. The feedback from the singers is very rewarding. The wide choice of songs Aviva works on with the kids means that (nearly) all tastes are catered for and a great time is had by all.
