THIS IS ADDRESSED TO ALL PSAB MEMBERS Dear All, Last night, the final event of the year took place. The Section Internationale Anglophone celebrated the graduation of its third Terminale class. Congratulations to all the students for their achievements. On behalf of the PSAB, I wish them much success and happiness in their future endeavors. The ceremony marked the end of another eventful year for the PSAB. We welcomed many new families and members this past September, and we hope they found, through our association, new friends and a social network that will allow them to play an active role in their children's education. We are looking forward to welcoming even more next fall! Our theater group, Saltimbuc, was founded, and what a hit! With the dedication of its organizing members under the direction of Mirabelle Kirkland and Nicole Bellon, students of all ages, their parents, and even a few teachers (!) were able to demonstrate their many talents on stage. We can't wait to see what they show us next year! There was one major change on the PSAB Board this year. After many years of dedicated service to the association, Jean-Christophe Valdelièvre stepped down as president. I'd like to thank him (and his family!) for his time spent on PSAB matters: the 10 year anniversary celebration, the officialization of the lycée section, the tireless hours he put in to make sure things ran smoothly... I know that you all join me in expressing our great appreciation! I would also like to thank the other members of the board, as well as all the parent delegates and committee volunteers. Without the participation of these parents, many of the activities that our children enjoy and much of the communication about these activities would not be possible. It is my wish that the PSAB continue to be a dynamic association whose members are willing to donate their time and passion in the interest of all of our children. Finally, as with any 'end-of-the-year' letter, I must add that the Rentrée 2010 is busily being prepared! You will find the booklist on our website, as well as other articles about the different events of the year 2009/10. If you haven't visited the site recently, please take the time this summer to catch up. The PSAB General Assembly will be held earlier next fall - on September 25th, so save the date! You'll receive the official invitation in September. I wish you and your families a safe and happy summer vacation. To our departing members, I hope that you will stay in touch and maybe join the WHAG's (What Happens After Graduation). To our returning members, I look forward to seeing you next year with renewed enthusiasm and new ideas about how to make the PSAB an association where everyone finds their place! Best Wishes and Happy Summer! Debbie Stockman-Lier, President, PSAB |
